From a young age Gabriel started cooking with his mother and abuelita in the kitchen. This is where he first got interested in culinary arts. He developed his passion by working as a cook and a server in many different restaurants from casual to fine dining. Gabriel then decided to make his passion his career and he started competing in many cooking competitions such as ProStart, Skills USA and in 2015 he was awarded Chopped Champion North Texas in which he won a scholarship for college. Following this, he went on to graduate from the Culinary Institute of America. Gabriel has since worked as a head pastry chef in Denali, Alaska’s Alpenglow fine dining restaurant, as well as cooked at Beverly Hills 5-star Peninsula Hotel and many other highly regarded restaurants. Gabriel began as a line cook with Grace in 2018 and humbly accepted the Sous Chef position where he hopes to reach even higher potential.
